For Your Headphones

Explanation, Reasoning, & Resonation of the three singles – For Your Headphones by ronaldTHEvirgo.

“Each song effectively demonstrates the connectivity between interest-study, hyper-sensitivity, release, and an overall reflection of my lens” - Ronald (2024)

After taking the time to indulge in my interests, sit in thought, and assemble solutions to internal obstacles; I found myself with a newly discovered sense of authority. Authority in terms of regulating & standing firm within my truth. I became accepting of all that life brings, not just the romanticized almost dissociative state I've failed to realize I was in; though this is still an on-going process and journey I am on. Accepting has allowed me to tap into a place of security, authority (as stated earlier), and the light-heartedness that I either forgot I needed or never realized was so imperative to my sense of self; very ironic.. I know.

During this ongoing process of furthering my self-discovery, I was able to create a surplus of songs, demos, and ideas that properly represent my growth as a person and as an artist. For Your Headphones is a collective of three singles “Ecoutez-Moi”, “HEY HI HELLO – Raw Adlib Session”, and “I'll be there at 9”. I would prefer everyone who engages with these singles to listen with headphones due to every auditory detail being important.

Thank you for listening! - Ronald.. Just Ronald :)

Ecoutez-Moi — the breakdown

“Ecoutez-Moi” is about a bunch of different aspects that I was feeling in my life at the time; this song illustrates the feeling of being unfulfilled within a platonic relationship(s). My hyper-sensitivity forces me to analyze every interaction.. allowing me to pinpoint and dissect what is bothering me; In this case feeling the connection die down, feeling unappreciated, & unheard. This chapter allowed me to question everything & jumpstart my journey to finding that sense of authority over my own life.

Key things to listen for:

The cut off of “I don't ever track time-” merged into a synth.

“Are you listening to me” in heavy reverb mocking internal dialogue.

“I must be trippin..” the start of questioning.

The beeping towards the end represents a ticking time bomb.. The era of renovated self worth is near.

Hey Hi Hello / Raw Adlib  Session - the breakdown

“HEY HI HELLO - Raw Adlib Session” is pretty simple since there's no words. This song demonstrates interest-study by allowing myself to experiment and simply have fun. I recorded this song on my phone (as in all my music) laying down on my stomach, and singing with no effects other than reverb. In a sense this song also shows authority and trust within myself. This is one of the more recent songs / demos I've made; Shoutout to trusting yourself

Key things to listen for:

Layering, vocals, techniques, and the importance of not being perfect but being fulfilled.

Simply enjoy!

I'll be there at 9. - the breakdown

“I'll be there at 9” is also about enduring an uncomfortable, intense situation but the difference between this song and “Ecoutez-Moi '' is the release, security, and handling of such feelings. This song illustrates a sense of breathwork, questioning, acceptance, and comfort. The vocals are intensely layered.. mimicking auditory waves — I connect these waves to breathing, deep breaths, collecting myself, and finding tranquility within chaos and the unknown. I incorporated my mothers voice at the end further illustrating that sense of comfort and trust.

Catching on the pattern? Authority, trust, & comfort!

Key things to listen for:

Deeply listen to the layers to find and connect those waves.

“How much can I take?” the understanding of my psyche & boundaries.

Pausing, delayed lyrics, and audible breathing depicting stress.

“Hey poppi, it's mommy.. I'll be there at Nine” -   my mother saving the day

The lasers!!! Finding tranquility within the chaos, allowing me to find my way.
